When to use Hazard lights

Hello, guys, we use hazard light in our cars, and it is certainly most of using it the wrong way. I will tell you how to use it.

What is hazard Lights?

These are warning lights which flashes both the indicator at the same time, it is mostly used to alert other drivers if there is any fault in your vehicle. It is switched on by a button on the dashboard or steering column with a triangle sign.

When to use hazard lights

They are to warn other road users that you are a temporary hazard. For example, if you have broken down on the side of the road, or you are changing a tyre. If you are being towed, you should use your hazard warning light.

When you should not use Hazard warning Light

In India, most people use hazard warning light in very strange situations. They use it when the visibility drops due to rain or fog while entering into the tunnel. This is not an advisable situation to use a hazard light.

If you use hazard lights your indicators won’t work and the car behind you will be confused whether you are changing lanes or making a turn. Yes, there are some cars (VW cars) which will switch off the hazard lights when you turn on your indicator.

Though it depends on the country you are driving, but certainly, in India, you should not use it while your car is in motion cause it confuses the drivers.
