In this article, we will talk about the new Nissan Magnite Facelift and review it. Does the new Magnite feel better than before, does it have more features, does it drive better? We will answer all the questions in this article. First, let’s talk engine.
Engine
The Magnite Facelift has two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine both are 3-cylinder engines. The naturally aspirated engine produces 72 HP and 96 Nm of torque, while the turbocharged engine produces 100 HP and 160 Nm. Both engines are available with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The Naturally aspirated Engine has Manual and AMT and the Turbo has the Manual and CVT option.Â
The Naturally aspirated engine is quite underpowered especially when the vehicle is loaded. The turbo engine is also not very enthusiastic but does the job better than the NA engine. The CVT used in the Nissan Magnite is XTRONIC CVT, which has less rubber band effect and is smoother, but you have a low mode in CVT, it helps in quick overtake and hill climbs, but the engine gets noisier and you get the rubber effect in that mode.
The Ride quality is good and you don’t feel jerks or shocks, though on big bumps the people inside the vehicle tend to move around a bit. The vehicle’s stability is okay, but the body roll is well-contained. The steering doesn’t have much feel but does the job. Overall it is a decent vehicle to drive, but nothing exciting, but the highlight is ride quality.
Interior
The interior of the Nissan Magnite Facelift is updated with better materials than before, though they are still not good. In higher variants, you get soft touch material on the dash and the door pads. The plastic quality is quite poor. You get and 9″ touchscreen with a wireless Android auto and Apple car play but the quality is quite poor compared to other cars in this segment. A 360° camera but again the camera quality is average, but it does the job. You don’t get a standard fit wireless charger, you have to buy it as an accessory.

The Magnite Facelift also comes with a number of safety features, such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control. Isofix child mounts, TPMS, 360° Camera, Hill Assist, Rear Washer & Wiper & Defogger. The older model was tested at Global NCAP and scored 4-star.
The back seat is spacious compared to the other vehicles in this segment, you have good knee and headroom. The under thigh support is also good and you can stretch your feet under the front seats. This is thanks to the 2500 mm wheelbase of Magnite. The recline angle of the back seat is not the best, in longer journeys you might feel a little tired.
Exterior
From an exterior point of view, there are subtle changes, you can notice the changes in the front grille area and the redesigned front bumper. From the side, it looks similar except for the new alloy design. In the back, the newly updated tail lamps are quite distinctive from the older model.
Conclusion
Overall, the Nissan Magnite Facelift is a good value-for-money compact SUV. You get a decent vehicle with good features and a spacious & comfortable vehicle. But the drivability of Magnite is one of its weaknesses. The engine does the job but nothing is exciting you can expect from it. One thing which I really liked is you can lot of safety features as standard with the base model which starts at Rs 5.99 lakh, though the top model costs Rs 11.50 lakh for which you can get better vehicles in the market.
