2017 Hyundai Verna
Hyundai has launched new model of the most loved car verna. The New Verna has taken the competition to Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento. The new verna is priced at 7.99 for base petrol and the diesel automatic goes upto 12.61 lakhs.
What’s New
New Verna is based on K2 platform. The exterior design inspiration comes from the new generation Elantra that made a its indian debut last year. Hyundai is also saying that this is the first of many future models to adopt this new design.
Talking about features i new verna, it gets a projector headlamps, LED DRLS, projector fog lamps and new LED tailights. The cabin of Verna is in dual-tone color with satin grey accents all over. There is andriod auto and apple car play with 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It even has MirrorLink system and park assist. It also has intelligent truck detector that automatically opens the boot-lid. And above all this the top trims gets cruise control and electric sunroof.
Engine
The predecessor model had 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engine, Hyundai has discountinued with 1.4 litre engine and will now have 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engine.
New Verna comes with two engine 1.6 petrol and diesel with manual and automatic transmission option. The 1.6 petrol makes 121 BHP at 6,400 rpm and 151 NM at 4850 rpm of torque, while the diesel 1.6 makes 126 BHP at 4,000 rpm and 260 NM at 1500-3000 rpm of torque. There are six variants across two engine options.

Dimension
This new verna has grown in dimensions that has created more space inside the cabin which will make the ride more comfortable. The boot capacity has also increased over its predecessor. The handling is also improved to make the car more responsive.

Safety
Hyundai is offering dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all trims in this new gen Verna. Top trim is getting six aitbags(front, side and curtain), electronic stability program, traction control and electronic brake assist.
Verna has always been a loved car after its fluidic version came to market. This new gen is looking more aggressive, and new improved engine will definately be more fun to drive. After the GST inclusion the price will be increased by 50%. It is surely a good competition to its rivals.
