Hello guys maruti has launched a sports version of the one of the most popular Sedan Ciaz in india. The petrol variant is priced at 9.39 lakhs and the diesel variant is priced at 11.55 lakhs. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S comes with new sporty body kit, a large trunk-lid spoiler and premium interior.
About the Ciaz
Since the launch of Maruti Ciaz on Oct 2014, 1.70 lakhs units has been sold. And R S Kalsi Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd expects this new Ciaz S will further strengthen the position by catering to the requirements of a younger yet premium customer who believes in the sporty spirit of life.
Maruti also launched Ciaz RS in 2015, which only came with some minor updates like a small trunk-lid mounted spoiler and updated interior. Ciaz RS was a success for Maruti as the original model was also.
Interior
New Ciaz S has all the features that the alpha (top) trim has. It includes touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control. It has all-black interiors with leather upholstery and chrome accents for the cabin.
Exterior
Ciaz S gets a stylist body kit with side skirts and a large trunk-lid spoiler with integrated stop lamp. This new styling gives the sedan a sporty and aggressive look
Safety
Safety features include – dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX (child seat restraint system).
Engine
Though the name given sport but there is not change in engine. It is same as the regular Ciaz. It has 1.4 petrol engine producing 91 bhp and 130 Nm torque and has 5 speed manual transmission and 4 speed automatic. On the other hand it has 1.3 diesel engine with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki) system producing 89 bhp and 200 Nm torque and it only comes with 5-speed manual.
Ciaz S is a sports model but there is no change in power delivery. Only visual appearance has changed. Yes the Ciaz RS was a success but only a visual upgrade with sports name is not enough in my opinion. A bit more powerful engine would have done better I guess.
I will give a detailed review after test drive.
