Do you know how much manpower and machine power is required to build a car? Have you ever seen a car manufacturing facility? How much time does it take to design a car? These facilities are huge and expensive and it costs millions to build a car, with thousands of people working along with machines. Only there could be an easy and efficient way to build a car. Yes, there is a Czinger 21c AI-designed 3D-printed hypercar.

The first AI-designed car was The Hack Rod. This new Czinger 21c is completely designed by AI and printed using a 3D printer. It is inspired by one of the fastest aircraft, the SR-71 Blackbird. The material printed by the 3D printer is aluminium and titanium.

Why Czinger 21C

This new hypercar company is just not focusing on building a hypercar and selling it for millions. The true purpose of Czinger is to change how cars are made in the future. 3D-printed and AI-built cars are something that we might see in the future.

The main beauty of this car is the central sitting position. The centre driving position makes you feel like sitting on a motorbike. Also gives you the feeling of sitting in a cockpit. The McLaren F1 was one of the cars with a central driving position which I liked.

Performance of Czinger 21C

This car has 2 variants one road-legal and one track car. The Road legal car has a top speed of 270 mph

This car is powered with a 2.88-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which puts out 937HP, powered by a seven-speed sequential gearbox. It revs up to 11,000 RPM. Also, it has 2 electric motors fed with a 2kWh lithium-titanate battery pack powering the front axles. This adds another 237HP to the vehicle, which makes it to a total of 1174HP. The kerb weight of the vehicle is 1165 KG. This gives the power-to-weight ratio to 1:1. This is a track-oriented vehicle that will be launched in 2021

The road-legal vehicle will have 1250 HP and it weighs 1250 KG, which makes the power-to-weight ratio 1:1. The road-legal version will be available in 2022. Kevin Czinger the founder and CEO said: “I love Bruce Lee. I’m not an Arnold Schwarzenegger guy. The future is about being lean and mean and efficient, it’s all about power to weight.”.

This enables the 21C to achieve an 8.1-second quarter mile, 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 1.9 seconds, 0 to 186 mph (300 kph) to 0 in 15 seconds and 0 to 248 mph (400 kph) to 0 in 29 seconds.

My thoughts on Czinger

I personally liked Czinger 21c, because it is built using AI and 3D printers, which I like personally. I believe this is how the future of car manufacturing is going to be. Just put the basic design in the software and AI designs the car for you by understanding your needs. Also, no need to create parts just print them using 3D printers.

This is a more efficient way to build cars, which will require less space for manufacturing and can produce more cars. Though the technology involved in this is something still in the development stage. It is not like the industry will switch to 3D-printed cars tomorrow. But we can expect to see more AI-designed and 3D-printed hypercars or cars soon.

A special thanks to the Topgear website and Czinger website for information and images.
