Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Facelift
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross price starts at ₹ 8.49 Lakhs and goes up to ₹ 11.29 Lakhs. Diesel S-Cross price starts at ₹ 8.49 Lakhs. The S-Cross facelift will be available in four variants Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha and it comes with a reworked body styling and some new features making it a better offering than before. Launched in 2015, it was the first car for the company to be sold out of the new and upmarket Nexa retail network.
Exterior
There is a remarkable change in the new S-Cross with a muscular new bonnet and strong characters line. The major change is the new toothy grille with strong chrome accents. The new headlights look very high-tech. The alpha model gets LED projector and daytime running lamps and rest model gets halogens. The overall design is certainly enhancing the road presence of the new S-Cross. The rear gets new LED tail lamp. New S-Cross comes with 16-inch wheels which definitely looks good.
S-Cross is available in four variants Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha with 5 color options Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Premium Silver and Granite Grey.
Interior
There are noticeable changes inside, dashboard gets satin chrome finish and soft touch material is used. The seats are well finished with leather armrest. The centre console gets piano black with a touchscreen infotainment system has been retained with android auto and apple carplay. It also has navigation, voice command, auto dimming Inside Rear View Mirror, cruise control, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wiper.
Engine and Safety
The old 1.6 litre diesel engine has been discontinued which is sad, the old engine made 118 bhp and 320Nm torque which was really good in its class. Now S-Cross comes with 1.3 litre DDiS 200, it has smart hybrid technology which includes idle start stop, torque assist, brake energy regeneration system and gear shift indicator only with manual transmission. This new engine makes 89 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. The ARAI claimed mileage is 23.65 kmpl.
Among safety features we have, ABS with EBD, driver and front passenger airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard and other features like parking sensors, seatbelts with pre-tensioner and more.

The old model was not successful only 53000 units were sold over 3 years, but this new S-cross should do good. This time it definitely looks good but the lack of 1.6 engine will drive away the driving enthusiasm. With the mileage of 23.65 kmpl it has more become practical. Its alternatives are Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano.
