Tata Sierra EV
Tata Sierra Showcased at auto expo 2023 is the iconic vehicle of the 90s and Tata has retained the full glass on the side profile of the vehicle. This is an EV vehicle, till now there is no announcement about an ICE vehicle, but I believe we will have one. This model you are seeing is almost 90% production ready, and it is set to launch in 2025.
The overall design of this vehicle stands out, with connecting headlights and taillamps, the design looks futuristic.
The vehicle is set to be priced around 20-25 lakhs, and the EV is supposed to have a 400+ Range.
Maruti Suzuki EVX
This is the first EV from Maruti Suzuki showcased at the auto expo 2023. This is definitely a good move by Maruti, we need to wait and see if it can make it through the challenging market of EV. Maruti says it will directly go against Tata Nexon, and XUV 400.
This vehicle is going to be built on an all-electric platform. It will have a 60 kWh battery with a range of 500+ Km of range. I like the overall design of the vehicle. The is expected around Rs 10-15 Lakhs and is expected to be launched in 2025.
Hyundai Ioniq 6
This vehicle honestly looks a little weird, it is because this car has a drag coefficient of 0.21, it is one of the most efficient cars in the market. Mercedes Eqxx concept has a drag coefficient of 0.17.
The vehicle’s rear end looks like a Porsche with a sloping back and connecting tail lamps.
There are 2 battery packs, 53 Kwh and 77.4 Kwh with 2WD and AWD. It supports a 350 kW DC fast charger. This motor generates 230HP and 350 NM of torque for 2WD and 320 HP and 605 NM of torque for AWD. And the claimed range is 429 and 614 Km respectively. If launched in India It is expected to be priced around Rs 65-70 Lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
We have a 5-door variant only for India. Outside India, Maruti sells the 2-door variant. Jimny has a 1.5 Lt engine that puts out 104 HP and 135 NM of torque. It is a proper off-road vehicle, with a 4WD and low gear.
The price is expected to be around 12-15 lakhs and Mahindra Thar would be the direct competition.
Tata Avinya
It is purely an EV concept designed by TATA. A lot of features on this vehicle are concepts for now. Tata Motors says they will launch this vehicle in 2025, I am sure there will be changes to this concept model when it goes into production. It is a third-generation EV, which means the car is completely built only for EVs. Not sure about the price, but I expect something to be around Rs 30-35 Lakhs.

Kia EV9 is likely to have a 77.4 kWh battery pack, we are not sure about the range and power output. But I really like the boxy design of the SUV, which makes the stance of the vehicle aggressive.
Tata Curvv
Tata Curvv is coming in both ICE and EV as it is based on Gen 2 platform, this is the ICE car. This car will be powered by 1.2-litre Turbo petrol with direct injection. I like the design of the car, the slopy coupe-like design looks similar to BMW X6. The design makes the car look edgy and sporty.
It is expected to launch in 2024, with a price tag of around 10-12 Lakhs.

Toyota Corolla Cross H2
It is an ICE vehicle that runs on compressed Hydrogen gas. It has a 1.6 Litre engine with 3 cylinders. Though it is a concept, I would really like to see the Hydrogen version of the Toyota Corolla Cross H2. Currently, it is sold as Petrol and Diesel in Thailand.
Toyota Mirai
It is one of the very first mass-produced Hydrogen vehicles. It is sold worldwide. It is powered by FCEV, and it generates 170 Hp of power. The claimed range is 600+ Km.
This vehicle is showcased at Auto expo 2023, with the hopes of launching it in India. Though I highly doubt it will be sold in India in near future. We do not have a Refueling station yet, but we might see them in the next 3-5 years.
