How did we increase our website traffic?
We started using web stories in the past year. To date, we have created several web stories, but we have seen a boost in traffic in the last week. We have seen small hikes in traffic when we started posting web stories. But in the past week, we have seen a major boost in traffic.
We focused on creating small and quick content that was unique and easy to read. We also used web stories to create short content for a larger blog post, this helps a user understand the topic in a quick visual form of content.
We focused on creating unique topics which look visually appealing, we did a lot of trial and error before we achieved a boost in traffic. We will put a short guide for you below on how to create Google web stories.
Though I would like to clarify this, I had decent traffic before I started using Google web stories, so I am not sure how it would be for a new website. But web stories are a new way people are interacting with any website, it is a popular way of creating content, so I suggest each and every website should take benefit of it.
Why you should create Google web stories
Google web stories are a great option to create a short form of visual content. You have a lot of freedom with text, images, audio, video and animations. You can create a web story anywhere from 5-30 pages long. They load fast because they use AMP (accelerated mobile pages). They are not like Instagram or Facebook stories, which only last for 24 hours, they are up there till you don’t delete them. You can use google analytics to track your story. Stories can also be monetized using Google AdSense.
You can rank faster by creating engaging visual content without much effort. Just need to pick a trending topic or a good & unique idea for your story and boom you are good. You can repurpose your existing long article or video, into a short story format to attract attention and link back to your main content. It is like a trailer for the full movie.
Web stories are easily indexed by Google, you have just followed basic SEO practices of Meta title, meta description, and alt tags. It is a fairly new type of content format so it is easy to rank comparatively
