Mahindra Launched Thar.e an electric car concept, which looks amazing and cool. In this article, we will talk about a few details and how the Mahindra Thar.e design looks from the outside. We do not have the look of the interior.

Mahindra Thar.e Design

Straight away looking at this vehicle you will see a chunky and rugged design which has a jacked-up ground clearance with chunky tyres. The square design with square headlights and taillamps gives this car a very bold and rugged stance. The big wheels arch makes the vehicle look very big and chunky from the sides. Also from the side rear around the C-pillar, this car gives me the vibes of the new Land Rover Defender which I dont think is on purpose.

This Thar.e is made in INGLO platform the new electric car platform of Mahindra. Thar.e is an electric vehicle, but the design concept makes it look like a very inefficient electric vehicle just like Hummer EV. Because this squared-out design with a lack of aeros is not very efficient from an electric car point of view. But this is only a concept and I am sure a lot of design cues in this Mahindra Thar.e electric concept will not make it to the production-ready vehicle. Though there is no official date given by Mahindra looking at their born electric series Thar.e should make it somewhere around 2026-27.

Mahindra Thar.e Features

  • This INGLO platform allows for 60 kWh prismatic cell or 80 kWh LFP batteries
  • It is a 5-dor concept
  • Ground clearance is expected around 250-300 mm
  • Range expected to be 435 – 450 Km
  • Instead of normal side mirrors, Thar.e has cameras that will have a feed in your dashboard.
  • The front overhang is 640-680 mm and the rear overhang is 680-740 mm, which makes the approach and departure angle very good
  • LED lights unit are the same in the headlights and taillights, it is to give it a minimalist approach and reduce waste. Also, the bumper is the same in the front ad back.
  • The Interior is incorporated using 50% recycled PET and recyclable uncoated plastic
  • The charging port is on the left side of the vehicle below the A-pillar

Conclusion

According to me, this rugged and chunky design looks very cool, but it is not practical to produce this concept, they have to make quite a few changes to make it more efficient and roadworthy. Though this is only a concept and a concept is never actually made into production. Even the Tesla Cybertruck which was announced in 2019. What do you think about the Mahindra Thar.e design?
