After a long wait, Renault unveiled the Duster in India. This is the 3rd Gen Duster. India got the 1st Gen in 2012, which lasted for 10 years from 2012 to 2022. And the 1st Gen Duster was the car that brought in the compact SUV segment in India. Let’s see what you get in the new Renault Duster, which was unveiled on 26th Jan 2026
Renault Duster
The 3rd Gen Renault Duster packs in a lot of new features and a premium design. This is the same duster that is sold by Renault’s subsidiary company Dacia, which is also called Duster.
The front and rear design has been overwamped over the 1st Gen Duster sold in India. The new front grille with Duster badging looks bold. That is an interesting aspect from Renault; instead of using the Renault logo, they used Duster in the front. Renault knows the importance of the Duster brand name in India.
The rear design has angled-shaped LED taillamps and a connecting LED cluster. In the back renault has given their logo above, and the Duster logo is placed below. Overall stance remains the same; there are some very minor changes to the overall dimensions. But the rugged look of the car is kind of missing here, dont get me wrong, the new Duster still looks very SUVish and has a great stance, but the old Duster was brawly and rugged.

The base engine is the 1.0 L Turbo Petrol that you see in Kiger, it has 100 Hp and 160 Nm of torque. The second engine is a 1.3L Turbo petrol that has a power output of 162 HP and 280 NM of torque. This will be the most powerful Engine in this segment. The third engine is a 1.8L GDi, a naturally aspirated direct-injection engine. This will be mated to 2 electric motors and will be a strong hybrid engine. It will have a Battery size of 1.4 kWh, which means you can expect a lot of EV-only range in city driving.
Conclusion
The Pricing of the new Duster has not been revealed yet. The car will be officially launched in March 2026, and we can expect the pricing then. Also, the new 1.8L Strong hybrid powertrain will be available from Diwali of 2026, and not at the launch. The pricing should be really competitive because this is a very competitive segment.
