OnePlus Repairs you Should Not do on your Own

When your phone falls in the water, you know what to do- take it out of the water, wipe it dry and bury it in a bin of rice. The rice soaks up moisture and hopefully, you will be able to switch the phone on again. However, if it doesn’t, you shouldn’t try to open up the phone on your own. Unless you’re a certified technician yourself, there’s a limit to what you should do on your own. For these following repairs you should visit a service centre of OnePlus:

Cracked Screen

99% of all phones available today have touchscreen technology. Unfortunately, the screen is a delicate component of the phone and highly susceptible to cracks. While a hairline crack screen can be ignored for a while, in the case of bigger cracks, you should have the screen replaced immediately. Not only does a cracked screen affect your experience of using the phone, but it also increases the risk of moisture going into the phone. To prevent this from happening, always use a screen guard on your phone.

Phone not charging

Ideally, a phone should not take more than a few hours to charge. If it doesn’t, there are a number of reasons why it could take longer than normal to fully charge your battery. The first thing you can do is try charging it at a different socket. If this does not help, try using a different cable. If this too does not help, the fault lies with the phone. Do not try to open it up yourself but send it to an authorized service centre for OnePlus repairs.

Phone overheating

If your phone starts heating up, there could be a problem with the battery. This should never be ignored as battery issues left unattended can become dangerous. The heat can lead to leakage of organic solvents from the battery that can ignite if exposed to a spark or intense heat. In the older types of phones available, the battery could be removed by opening the back panel. However, in today’s generation of phones, this is not possible. Hence, you should have it checked out by a technician.

Button not working

With touchscreen phones, buttons are limited typically to the on-off button on the side and the volume buttons. Though they are small, they play an important role in your experience with the phone and are susceptible to wear and tear. If the power button does not work, you will not be able to use your phone at all. The reason for this could be a system update, a software key problem or an issue with the physical button. Irrespective of the cause, it can only be fixed by a service centre.

An unclear, dull sound

Sound quality is probably one of the most important aspects of a phone. This with reference not only to calls but also to videos you may watch on the phone and your morning alarms. The first thing to do is to check your phone’s system volume and ensure they are not muted and clean the speakers with a Q-tip. If that does not help, the fault could lie with a software setting or the speaker hardware. This is a common issue but should be addressed only by trained technicians.

Camera issues

Today, when mobile phones are advertised, the camera is the most talked-about feature. Hence issues related to the quality of photographs and videos taken from your phone can be quite frustrating. Some of the most common camera-related issues include flash not working, the camera taking blurry photographs or the camera app opening up to just a black screen. Try cleaning the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dirt that may have accumulated on it. If that does not help, you will have to take your phone to a service centre. As with sound quality issues, the fault here could lie with the device software or the camera lens hardware.

When it comes to OnePlus repairs, there are a number of authorized service centres in almost every city. Always ensure that your phone is opened up only by one of these centres. Giving your phone to a local technician may seem cheaper but they are not certified to do this and may cause more trouble than you had to begin with. Remember, the cost of repairing these issues could be much more expensive than the cost of fixing the original issue.
